With all the conspiracy theories, hopes, changes and all other things aside. Today we shall pay homage to GOOGLE.ORG ! which is the umbrella term for Google’s philanthropic efforts, which includes the work of the Google Foundation, some of Google’s own projects using Google talent, technology and other resources, as well as partnerships and contributions to for-profit and non-profit entities. As of May 2008, Google.org has committed over $85 million in grants and investments to further there five initiatives.
One of the examples is tracking the flu virus using aggregated Google search data to estimate flu activity in your state up to two weeks faster than traditional systems!
