The 2010 World Cup officially kicked off this morning in South Africa.. Love it or not, it's the world's most watched sporting event !!.
64 matches, 32 nations and televised in over 200 countries.. The last world cup had a cumulative television audience of 26 billion people!!
Take 3 hours out of your day and go post up in Cafe to watch a game... It's hard not to get caught up & have a good time..
The TIGER hopefuls are SPAIN & ENGLAND...

As a kid, I remember waiting all month long for the new issues of the Savage Sword of Conan & Heavy Metal to arrive at my local corner store. Partly ofcourse because I was a comic nerd but the main draw was the cover art..Deadly beasts, savage warrior and always some type of a beautiful naked woman.. I'm not gonna lie, A winning combo month after month that kept me coming back for more.
Long before my time, this "winning combo" had been created by a man named Frank Frazetta, one of the worlds greatest & most influential fantasy artists of our time. Spanning over 5 decades, Frank's work included every medium from water colors to oil paintings and included novels illustrations, comics, film art and album covers. His influence ran deep can be seen in the work of George Lucas & Steven Spielberg and he was sought after by everyone from Clint Eastwood to Francis Ford Copolla for his work.. From Mad Max to Wolf Mother this man's influence was well and wide from the 60's to the turn of the century.
Sadly on May 10th, Frank Frazetta passed away at age 82. A loss of a legend forsure.

On May 13th at 7:00pm, the folks at OffTheHook are playing host to the Ringleaders Football Club's exhibit; MATCH PROGRAMS.. This is a series of print programs created throughout the 09-10 season by the club to promote the weekly games.. Cool concept and definitely worth checking out.. "..That's prints, drinks, art & good people"!

I got call from Mr.Petitt a few months back out of the blue telling me about a mini project he want to create and asked if we were down to help? Over the past several years, we've gotten to know Jeremy pretty well and have become big fans of his work.. As a filmer & producer, his work is beyond beyond and as a human, he's as good a stick as any... natural, when he called excited about this project, we jumped at the chance to support!
The pitch went something like this:
Vancouver was in the midst of it's host duties for the 2010 olympic games and the city was experiencing some abnormally sun, warm weather.. The city itself was going insane with olympic fever and packed full of people from across the world. Jer had been speaking with Russ Milligan (whom grew up in Vancouver but current lives in SF) about flying back home to Vancouver to put together a short skate film that captures the olympic madness. The results speak for themselves..

It's been about 200 years since Eyjafjallajökull flared up and threw a tantrum but this time, the worlds euro air hubs are taking the beat down.. Britian has closed down it's airspace as have numerous other nations due to a loom cloud of volcanic ash creeping across the old world... Think about that.. No flights TO or FROM the majority of the Western European travel hubs! Pretty much chaos and the last time this volcano had a major eruption, it lasted 2 years!
