Each March, the Ringleader Football Club hosts an outdoor tournament in Montreal, Quebec called the FROST BITE CUP.
Whether it's a final "fuck you" to winter or a welcoming of spring, the tournament goes on regardless of what mood mother nature may in. From -20 below zero or 3ft of snow, the teams show up to battle it out for bragging rights & rights to holy Cup for a year.
This year, the tournament fell in the middle of an abnormal warm snap pushing temps up in the double digits and essentially turn the pitch into living swamp of mud & slush.
Heated football, amazing goals, even better falls and good times had by all.
Thanks to the RFC camp putting this event together yet again!
Shouts out to the TIGER squad for battling out and bringing the cup home to St Henri for 2010!
Our good friends at The Ringleaders were recently doing some digging through the NewBalance history books and came across this amazing project launched in UK back in the late '70's..

Celebrating a decade in the fashion, the gang at WeSC have teamed up with the Medicom Toys to produce a limited run of BE@RBRICK headphones. Based on the bongo headphone platform, WeSC dug deep into the vault and pulled out four of their classic theme patterns from the past 10 years. Only 250 of each pattern were produced and all four are currently available at Off The Hook.. If you're a fan, a collector or just like rare goodies, make sure to drop by the shop check it...
WeSC and the good folks at Bread & Butter have partnered up and customized a WeSC Maraca headphone to be released at the upcoming Fall 2010 expo starting next week.. Not only is this headphone black to the floor & incredibly fresh, all proceeds from this project will go to the charity foundation Die Arche.... good look guys!
Although quite deceptive, January is probably one of the busiest times of the year at TIGER. Spring launches & Fall bookings begin somewhat on top of one another.. I tend to find myself hammering away in front of a computer more often than not lately but I have to say, it's always amazing when you drift off into the interweb and hit on something unique.. I spent a great deal of time on Mike Schreiber's website today and every time I tried to leave, I ended up clicking deeper in.. His galleries of recording artists are a step beyond and alone well worth a visit.. Soak in the image of Willie Nelson's guitar's "Trigger" . It should keep you motivated for while and trust me it's a good investment of your time..
Although not officially beginning till mid-feb, 2010 is the year of the Metal Tiger..
I can't wait for the onslaught of Tiger imagery/art/ illustrations to start dropping in the upcoming months like this cardboard head by artist Antoine Morris !
Gonna be a good year forsure!
