Kehinde Wiley is an LA-born painter based in NY, known for his portraits of young African American men in contemporary urban life... his work can be described as hip-hop meets Renaissance. I had the privilege of seeing Wiley's paintings last year during the NY art fairs and was blown away by the size and incredible detail of his work.
Anyone in NY from September 3rd-26th must go see Wiley's new exhibit Black Light at Deitch- 75 Grand Street.
